Peraton has named ex-Booz Allen leader Rebecca McHale as its new Chief Information Officer. She fills a role that has been vacant since May and reports to Peraton COO Jeremy Wensinger.

At the IT and government contracting giant, McHale will spearhead Peraton’s digital transformation and serve as the senior IT advisor to the company’s executive leadership team.

McHale was most recently the CIO and former Chief Information Security Officer at Booz Allen. She also spent time as Blackboard’s CISO.

“Having a background of security makes me a better CIO, because I can try to blend those two to come up with the best possible decision for the organization,” McHale said in conversation with The Wall Street Journal.

She joins Peraton shortly after its blockbuster $3.4 billion acquisition of Northrop Grumman’s IT services businesses and $7.1 billion purchase of IT services company Perspecta.

As CIO, McHale will face the challenge of intergrating both of its multi-billion dollar acquisitions' technologies into its own systems as it seeks to grow its offerings as a capability integrator and transformative enterprise IT provider.
