WWE has made waves by hiring former DAZN and FOX executive Jamie Horowitz as its new EVP in charge of Development & Digital.
Based in Stanford, Connecticut, Horowitz will oversee the bulk of WWE’s original content including scripted and unscripted programs for digital and social media. He will also be responsible for WWE Studios, which is based in Los Angeles.
In January 2021, WWE announced a $1 billion deal that saw the shut down of the WWE Network app. The company’s OTT service’s programming and subscribers have now been migrated to NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, Peacock, which now has WWE’s content.
Horowitz brings over two decades of experience in sports media and joins WWE from DAZN, where he served as EVP of Global Content. Before that, he was at FOX and helped develop hit sports show First Take. Horowitz was notably fired from his role with Fox Sports in 2017 after allegations of sexual misconduct.
Alongside Horowitz, the wrestling giant also hired Samira Shah as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, and Matt Drew as Senior Vice President, International. Additionally, the company elected Steve Koonin, Connor Schell, and Nick Khan to its Board of Directors.
