Charlotte Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO recipient Patrick Whalen, Alejandro Torio and Top Chef Alum Jamie Lynch of 5th Street Group began in 2012 with the opening of Church and Union in Charlotte, North Carolina. The group went on to open Church and Union Charleston in 2015, Tempest Charleston in 2020, La Belle Helene Charlotte and Church and Union Nashville in 2021, and Ophelia's Nashville in 2023. Upcoming projects include Church and Union Denver, and Church and Union Miami. Each restaurant has gained national recognition in renowned publications including Conde Nast Traveler, The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, and Southern Living to name a few.
