The news agency was created in 1950 and became part of the ENI group during the Sixties, under Chairman Enrico Mattei. Every day AGI releases over 1,000 news and information on current events, politics, economics, society, finance, foreign affairs, culture, sport and entertainment.

International news are guaranteed by AGI’s foreign news desks in strategic world locations such as China, Russia, Usa, Nigeria, Congo, Iraq and Belgium (Brussels at the European Union). AGI has also agreements with major international news agencies like Thomson Reuters, France Presse, EFE, Interfax, Xinhua.

AGI is today the only European news agency to have an ISO 9001 Quality Certification on the whole production of its global news feed, the agency’s main product.
