Steve Gierlach

Steve Gierlach is a seasoned engineering leader, currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering at A123 Systems since November 2017, where responsibilities include overseeing hardware, software, application engineering, program management, and validation. Previously, Gierlach held key roles such as Director and Senior Manager of Hardware and Mechanical Engineering, enhancing product lines and strategic roadmaps in the global Battery Management Systems market. At Takata, Gierlach managed the development of an advanced Driver Monitoring System for Cadillac, while at Harman International, various engineering and program management positions underscored expertise in electronic design and customer relations. Gierlach started a career as a Design Engineer at TRW Automotive, focusing on high-speed electronic design challenges. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University.
