Chris Thomas is an accomplished communications and marketing executive with extensive experience in leading strategic initiatives across various sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Chris previously held the position of Vice President of Strategic Communications and Marketing at Activate, where efforts focused on digital marketing and brand development for a science-entrepreneur fellowship. At Salesforce, Chris established partnerships with mission-driven organizations as Vice President of Nonprofit Executive Engagement, while at the Sierra Club, the role of Chief Innovation Officer encompassed overseeing a 60-person team to enhance organizational strategy and digital presence. Prior experience includes directing digital product strategy at Greenpeace International. Chris holds a BA in American/English Literature from UCLA and completed the Post-graduate Writer’s Workshop in Creative Writing at the University of Iowa.
