Sebastian Palacio

Sebastian Palacio is an AI Research Scientist at ABB, specializing in industrial AI research with a focus on time series, unstructured text, and tabular data to address challenges in automation, electrification, and robotics through advanced techniques such as anomaly detection and generative AI. Previously, Sebastian served as the Team Leader of the Multimedia Analysis and Data Mining group at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) and worked at the Deep Learning Competence Center, developing methods in artificial neural networks and computer vision. Further research experience includes a role as a Visiting Researcher at the International Computer Science Institute and several positions as a Research Assistant in various institutions. Sebastian holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Computer Science from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, and an Engineer's degree from EAFIT University.
