Phil Cox

Phil Cox has over two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as a Research Fellow and Senior Principal Research Scientist at AbbVie since July 2007. In this role, Phil leads the Fragment-Based Drug Discovery (FBDD) chemistry group, focusing on fragment screening deck design, medicinal chemistry optimization, structure-based design, property-based design, and cheminformatics. Previously, Phil held the position of Principal Research Scientist at AbbVie, managing H2L projects across various therapeutic areas. Prior to AbbVie, Phil worked as a Senior Principal Scientist at Pfizer and as a Project Leader at Evotec in the UK. Phil holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Exeter and a BSc in Chemistry from The University of Salford.
