Jon Bassett

Jon Bassett is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in venture capital, entrepreneurship, and education. Currently serving as a Board Member at Abett since September 2022, Jon is dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare. As Managing Partner at NextGen Venture Partners since June 2015, Jon enhances the firm's network-driven approach, further developing the Venture Partner model. Jon has also contributed as a Mentor at Techstars since January 2014, supporting startup growth through funding and guidance. Previous roles include Board Member at Nuve, Inc., Principal at Silverton Partners, and involvement with various investment firms such as Draper Fisher Jurvetson and DFJ Frontier. Additionally, Jon co-founded Farmscape LLC, California’s largest urban farming venture. An instructor at USC Marshall School of Business from 2011 to 2013, Jon taught a course recognized for its innovation in teaching. Jon Bassett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Davidson College, graduating in 2008.
