Scott Corbett

Scott Corbett is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the medical technology field, currently serving as Senior Director of Advanced Development at Abiomed since December 2000. Corbett has a strong focus on addressing unmet customer needs through innovative technologies and cross-platform solutions, having held various leadership roles in advanced development and systems engineering for groundbreaking devices like Impella 5.5 and Impella CP. Corbett’s research contributions include principal investigator roles on NIH/SBIR programs and significant involvement in the development of the AbioCor artificial heart program. Academic credentials include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, a PhD in Bioengineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from Penn State College of Medicine, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Biophysics & Human Biology from the University of Guelph.
