Melissa Houghton

Melissa Houghton is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and marketing across various sectors, including sustainability and corporate social responsibility. As the Co-Founder of Accelerate Zero since January 2022, Melissa focuses on enhancing organizational capacity for transitioning to Net Zero Emissions through tailored e-Learning programs. In 2010, Melissa established Eighty20 Communications, a consultancy dedicated to aligning corporate strategies with Sustainable Development Goals and ensuring compliance with modern slavery and human rights regulations. Notably, Melissa served as the Chair of Oxfam Australia Trading and held a position on the Board of Directors, overseeing strategic direction and governance. Previous roles include Marketing Director for both the Green Building Council of Australia and News Digital Media, as well as Senior Marketing Manager at Defence Force Recruiting. Melissa holds a Master of Laws in Human Rights from UNSW and an MBA from Macquarie Business School, among other qualifications.
