Walter Smith

Walter Smith has extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, currently serving as a Business Development and Scientific Consultant at Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. since January 2021. Smith also holds board positions at OxaluRx and DAYA CNS, both since 2018. Previously, Smith was the Senior Vice President at Confluence Discovery Technologies, Inc. from 2017 to 2020 and served as CEO of Confluence Life Sciences, Inc., which focused on drug discovery for cancer and autoimmune diseases, from 2011 to 2017. Other notable roles include participation on the Board of Directors for the Arthritis Foundation and advisory consulting for Meramec Therapeutics. Smith's career at Pfizer spanned nearly three decades, ending as Vice President/Executive Director, following earlier positions at Pharmacia and GD Searle. Smith holds a Master’s degree in Immunology and a Bachelor’s degree in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
