James D. Lackie

Lackie has been involved in venture capital and private equity investing during the last 30 years. He started his career in commodities futures trading with Cook Industries, Dunavant Enterprises, Refco, and Lackie Trading Inc. Now active in private equity investments, Lackie has served as a director, consultant, board observer and officer of start-up and later-stage companies in retail, insurance, medical devices, rugged PDAs, real estate, and identity theft protection. He actively manages holdings in various hedge funds, and is president of River Street Management Company, an advisory and management services company. He also serves on the board of trustees of the Campbell Foundation and the University of Memphis Foundation. Lackie is a graduate in finance (cum laude) from the University of Memphis.
