Dr. Robert Edward Ang is a senior consultant and Head of Cornea and Refractive Surgery Services at the Asian Eye Institute. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Philippines General Hospital and undertook two fellowship training programs (Glaucoma, then Cornea and Refractive Surgery) at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. He is an active researcher and is a clinical investigator for many ophthalmology devices. Dr. Ang is a five-time winner of the Best Research Paper awards at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery congresses. He has authored several book chapters and international publications and is a much sought-after lecturer in international conventions. In 2013, Dr. Ang received the Certified Educators Award from the Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. In 2017, Dr. Ang won the Top Gun Instructors Award at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery convention. He was voted as one of the Top 100 most influential people in the world of ophthalmology in The Ophthalmologist Magazine Power List 2018.
