Praveen Kathpal

Praveen Kathpal is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as VP of Solution Offerings at The AES Corporation since 2019, where Praveen leads initiatives to create and grow transformative business opportunities. Previously, Praveen was the CEO of Motor from 2020 to 2023, focusing on accelerating electric vehicle adoption. Prior roles include leading market applications at Fluence in 2018, contributing to the growth of energy storage markets, and being a key member of the AES Energy Storage team from 2007 to 2017, which became a global leader in the industry. Earlier experience includes work at ICF International from 2003 to 2007, where Praveen applied economic modeling to wholesale electric power markets. Praveen holds an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a B.A. in Economics and Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia.
