Joseph Mbane

Joseph Mbane is a seasoned researcher currently affiliated with the CIFOR - Center for International Forestry Research, focusing on forest resource governance, wild meat trade, zoonotic disease risks, and research capacity building since June 2021. Before this role, Joseph operated as an Independent Consultant from February 2018 to July 2022, providing expertise in wildlife conservation, environmental impact assessments, and lecturing at local universities. Previous experience includes a Project Manager Assistant position with the African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources, where Joseph managed a significant fish trade project aimed at improving food security in sub-Saharan Africa.
