Edwin D. de Jong

Edwin D. de Jong is a highly experienced Principal Machine Learning Scientist currently at Aignostics since December 2024, previously serving as Lead Multimodal ML/Staff Machine Learning Researcher at kaiko.ai. At kaiko.ai, expertise was applied to train advanced medical foundation models for the healthcare industry. Prior to this, de Jong held significant roles, including Principal Machine Learning Scientist at ScreenPoint Medical, where contributions led to a substantial reduction in radiologist workload through AI technology evaluated in a major clinical trial. Other noteworthy positions include mentoring AI startups at Rockstart, introducing machine learning at IMC, leading predictive analytics at Quintiq, co-founding Adapticon BV, and conducting research at Utrecht University and Brandeis University. De Jong earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
