Varun Loiwal

Varun Loiwal is an experienced software engineer with a career spanning over a decade in prominent tech companies. Currently at Airbnb since 2019, Varun has previously held software engineering roles at Dropbox and Groupon, where contributions included work on real-time relevance infrastructure. Varun's early experiences include internships at Google and shopkick, focusing on data analytics and ETL processes, respectively. Starting as a project trainee at Symphony Services, Varun contributed to the development of an expense management system, and as a research intern at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, worked on enhancing database search capabilities. Varun holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and dual undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
