Elizabeth Tennyson currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at AOPA starting in November 2023. Prior to this role, Elizabeth held the position of Senior Vice President at AOPA Foundation, overseeing AOPA's philanthropic initiatives and the You Can Fly program from September 2021 to November 2023. Elizabeth's extensive experience at Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association includes roles such as Executive Director of You Can Fly and Vice President of Aviation Program Operations from October 2016 to October 2021, as well as various leadership positions in communications and government affairs since 2006. Elizabeth's career began at The Associated Press as a newswoman and later as Executive Editor at The National Jurist. Elizabeth holds an MBA in Strategy and Marketing from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California.
