Lauren Plavisch

Lauren Plavisch is a highly experienced founder and freelance scientific and technical editor with a diverse background in education, research, and event management. As the founder of International Women of Milan since 2013, Lauren has organized over 100 networking events for a community of 1,000+ English-speaking women from 20+ countries. Lauren's editing expertise spans scholarly journal articles, grant applications, and user manuals, currently serving as an editor for American Journal Experts and maintaining a freelance editing practice since 2007. Academic contributions include a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College. Previous roles include research scientist positions and management in hospitality, demonstrating a blend of scientific expertise, educational outreach, and project management skills.
