Colby Melton

Colby Melton has extensive experience in firearms technology and military service spanning over 25 years. Currently serving as a Gunsmith II at Akima Support Operations since August 2023, Colby performs major repairs and custom builds of small arms while also possessing significant knowledge of firearms operating principles. Colby’s military career includes roles such as Retired Infantryman with the US Army Soldier for Life program, Squadron Master Gunner, Small Arms Master Gunner Instructor, and various leadership positions responsible for the training and morale of soldiers and the management of firearm-related operations. Colby has pursued education in firearms technology and business management, obtaining multiple degrees and certifications, including a Bachelor of Professional Studies from Excelsior University and an Associate of Science in Firearms Technology from Sonoran Desert Institute.
