Caterina Bristol

Caterina Bristol serves as the Assistant Provost and Dean of the Harold Loyd Murphy Graduate School at Alabama State University since August 1999, overseeing accreditation, curriculum, faculty matters, and fundraising activities. With a rich background in music education, Caterina is also a Professor of Music, teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses while having earned tenure in 2010. Previous roles include interim Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts and interim Chair of the Department of Music, where notable contributions included leading accreditation processes. Earlier experience includes an assistant position at Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and an instructor role at Eastern Oregon University. Caterina holds multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Arts in Music Performance and Pedagogy and a Master of Music from the University of Northern Colorado, a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman's University, and a Bachelor of Music from The Ohio State University.
