Matt Wertman

Matt Wertman, MBA, currently serves as the Director of Building Services at Albemarle County Public Schools, having joined the organization in April 2022 after previously holding the position of Deputy Director of Building Services. In this role, Matt provides strategic direction to a team of six professionals and oversees the development of a comprehensive capital improvement program for multiple school sites. Prior to this, Matt worked as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager for Albemarle County, handling capital construction projects valued up to $35 million and mentoring team members. Earlier experience includes serving as a Project Administrator at Segars Engineering Corporation, where project management and design support were key responsibilities. Matt holds an MBA from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia.
