Michelle Walker

Michelle Walker is an experienced professional in the field of chemical engineering, currently serving as an R&T Advisor for Energy Storage at Albemarle Corporation since October 2011. In this role, Michelle manages programs focused on the process development and scale-up of lithium-ion battery recycling, specializing in lithium salts processing and direct lithium extraction. Prior experience includes leading process and technology teams in the production of battery-grade lithium carbonate and overseeing piloting for new products in various chemical sectors. Michelle's earlier roles include research associate and postdoctoral work at LSU AgCenter, where optimization of biomass conversion technologies was a key focus, and an internship at ExxonMobil. Michelle holds a Ph.D. and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
