Steven Young

Steven Young is the current Director at Alberta IoT. Prior to that, they were the Chief Executive Officer at Garnet Instruments from January 2018 to December 2020. Before that, they were a Board Member at Alberta Innovates from May 2012 to April 2015, and a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from May 2012 to May 2015. Steven has also worked as a Project & Change Management Consultant from January 2007 to March 2021.

Steven Young's educational career includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering/Industrial Management from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta, a Master of Business Administration in International Business Strategy from the Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Education in Biological Sciences/Business from the University of Alberta. Steven is also certified by Prosci in PROSCI Change Management, by the Government of Canada in Security Clearance, by the Regional Community Policing Training Institute at Wichita State University in Problem Based Learning Instructor, by the Credit Union Institute of Canada in Accredited Canadian Credit Union Director (ACCUD), by the Government of Alberta in Professional Investigator Licence, and by PMI Northern Alberta Chapter (PMINAC) in Project Management Professional (PMP).
