Kate Garfinkel

Kate Garfinkel is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in ethics, compliance, and privacy across multiple high-profile organizations. At Alcoa, from October 2014 until retirement, Kate served as Senior Vice President and Chief Ethics, Compliance, and Privacy Officer, leading global ethics initiatives and data protection strategies. Prior roles at Alcoa included Vice President for ethics and compliance and Ethics and Compliance Counsel. Earlier, Kate was General Attorney for International matters at United States Steel Corporation, providing legal expertise on global anti-corruption and import/export regulations. Kate's legal career also includes significant positions at PPG Industries, where responsibilities encompassed corporate counsel roles across various sectors, and a foundational role as an Associate at Eckert Seamans. Educational qualifications include a JD from Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University and a BA in Government and History from The University of Texas at Austin.
