Luiz Gustavo Costa

Luiz Gustavo Costa is an experienced geologist and mining supervisor with a diverse background in geological exploration and mining operations. Currently, Luiz serves as Supervisor de Mineração at Alcoa, overseeing planning and operations at the Poços de Caldas mines since August 2022. Previously, Luiz held the position of Senior Geologist at CMOC Brasil, focusing on greenfield and brownfield projects for phosphate and niobium commodities. Luiz's extensive experience includes roles at AngloGold Ashanti Ltda, where responsibilities encompassed underground geological activities, and multiple positions at Anglo American Niobium Brazil, specializing in geometallurgical studies and mine mapping. Luiz began the career with training at Geoservices and Votorantim Metais, accumulating foundational expertise in geological practices. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Geology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas and a postgraduate specialization in Mining Engineering and Geotechnics from Universidade Federal de Goiás.
