Amrita Bhaumik

Amrita Bhaumik is a Research Scholar at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research since October 2021. Previously, Amrita served as a Guest Researcher at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from May 2022 to July 2022 and as a Project Associate at the CSIR - National Institute of Oceanography from October 2019 to September 2021. Earlier experiences include a Dissertation role and a Summer Internship at CSIR - National Institute of Oceanography. Amrita is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Bremen, expected to complete in October 2024. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography from Annamalai University (2017-2019) and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Fish and Fisheries from the University of Calcutta (2014-2017). Secondary and higher secondary education was completed at Aligunj Rishi Rajnarayan Balika Vidyalaya from 2006 to 2014.
