Jake Spooner

Jake Spooner is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in civil and hydraulic engineering. Currently serving as Project Technical Director at Alinta Energy since June 2024, Jake holds prior roles including Technical Director and Principal Civil Engineer at Mott MacDonald, as well as Hydropower Project Manager. Experience also includes positions as Engineering Consultant at Insolution Fluid Dynamics, Engineering and Technology Manager at Eco-Solids International Ltd, and Water Resources Engineer at Riley Consultants Ltd, where significant contributions were made in water resources engineering. Jake began their career at Binnie Black & Veatch as a Graduate Engineer, advancing to project engineer while gaining expertise in hydraulic modeling and project management. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Hydraulic Engineering and a BEng (HONS) in Civil Engineering and German from Loughborough University.
