Peter Warne is an Australian business executive who has held various positions in their career, most notably as Chairman of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), Macquarie Group, and TCorp. Peter is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director at Allens.
Warne began their career in finance, working as an Advisory Board Member for the Australian Office of Financial Management from 2002 to 2015. Peter then transitioned to the securities industry, serving as a Non-Executive Director for the Securities Exchange Guarantee Corporation from 2006 to 2010. In 2007, they were appointed Chairman of Macquarie Group, a position they held until 2022.
In 2012, Warne was appointed Chairman of TCorp, a position they held until 2020. During their tenure, they oversaw the company's transition to a new ownership model. In 2013, they also became Chairman of OFX, a position they held until 2016.
In May 2006, Warne was appointed to the board of the ASX, and served as its chairman from September 2020 until their resignation in May 2022. Peter was also a member of the NSW Net Zero Emissions and Clean Economy Board.
Warne has been a director of numerous other companies, including ALE Property Group (2003-2017) and St Andrews Cathedral School Foundation. Peter is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director at Allens.
Peter Warne studied at the Institute of Actuaries, where they earned an Associate of the Institute certificate. Peter then went on to study Actuarial Studies at Macquarie University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Finally, they attended Gunnedah High School.
