Anthea Paelo

Anthea Paelo, PhD, serves as a Policy Specialist for Competition and Digital Financial Services at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion since December 2024, focusing on advancing knowledge generation and peer learning in the field. With extensive experience at the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development as a Research Fellow and previously as a Researcher, Anthea has specialized in competition and economic development issues in southern Africa. At Financial Sector Deepening Uganda, Anthea contributed as the Gender Focal Person and managed various programs focusing on policy analysis for financial inclusion. Anthea's educational background includes a PhD, MCom in Development Economics, and various degrees from the University of Johannesburg, establishing a strong foundation in economics and financial regulations.
