Helen Smith, Ph.D., is an experienced Research Project Manager at Alltech, where projects focus on innovative nutritional strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Previously serving as a Senior Research Scientist, Helen addressed bacterial issues related to antibiotic use in animal feed and its implications for public health. As a PhD Research Scientist, Helen investigated fermentation processes for producing bioactive compounds, and earlier work as a Research Associate involved DNA extraction and yeast strain identification. Helen holds an MBA from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, a CPD Certificate in Statistical Inference and Modelling from TU Dublin, a PhD in Biology from Maynooth University, and a BSc in Genetics and Cell Biology from Dublin City University.
