Carolina Gutierrez

Carolina Gutierrez is a Materials Engineer at Aluminio Inc since July 2023, with previous experience as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from June 2020 to June 2023. During research at MIT, Carolina analyzed methods for removing impurities from copper concentrates and designed experiments for further verification and publication. Additionally, Carolina evaluated the effects of flux mixture additives for secondary aluminum melts, focusing on magnesium removal, and assessed various technologies through thermodynamic and sustainability analyses using tools such as FactSage and Mathematica. Carolina holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completed in 2023.
