Yan Zhang

Yan Zhang is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in embedded systems, telecommunications, and satellite technology. Currently serving as an Embedded SDM for Project Kuiper at Amazon since August 2024, Yan has previously held significant roles such as Director of System Solutions at Airbiquity, where oversight led to the successful launch of connected car services for major automotive OEMs. Prior experience includes leadership positions at FreeWave Technologies, Microsoft, Zetron, RadioFrame Networks, Verge Wireless, and Motorola, contributing to innovative developments in system design, product architecture, and wireless communications. Yan holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
