Tate Heuer

Vice President, Federal Advocacy at American Academy of Physician Associates

Tate Heuer currently serves as the Vice President of Federal Advocacy at the American Academy of PAs, a position held since January 2017. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from March 2015 to January 2017, where responsibilities encompassed managing relationships with Congress and advising top officials on legislative matters, particularly regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act. Tate Heuer has also held significant roles in the Senate, including Senior Policy Advisor for the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Sr. Legislative Assistant to Senator Mark Pryor, overseeing health care issues and the Affordable Care Act. Earlier experience includes legislative roles in the offices of Senator Ben Nelson and Congressman Marion Berry, as well as serving as Policy Director for Mark Pryor's Senate campaign. Education includes a Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State University, achieved in May 1997.
