Carmen Helena Osorio-Amado

Carmen Helena Osorio-Amado is currently the Latin America Regional Manager for the Center for Chemical Process Safety at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, a position held since April 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Associate at Exponent, where investigative responsibilities involved chemical incident audits and data evaluations, and as a Process Safety and Risk Engineer at BP, providing pivotal safety support for offshore operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Carmen's early career features roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at various academic institutions, focusing on combustion science and air quality research, supplemented by an internship at Wood Group Mustang in technical safety engineering. Carmen holds a Ph.D. in Process Safety Engineering from Texas A&M University, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander.
