Joenell Henry-Tanner

Joenell Henry-Tanner currently serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President at the American Lung Association, a role held since February 2022. In addition, Joenell is the Executive Director of HenryTanner & Associates, a social impact consulting firm focused on enhancing societal health and well-being, a position held since October 2016. Previous leadership roles include Chief Racial Equity Officer and Chief of Staff at Heartland Alliance (2018 - February 2022), and National Managing Director and Vice President of Health Equity at the American Cancer Society (2006 - 2016). Joenell has also contributed as Executive Director for the Chicago Asthma Consortium and Hillside Health Care International, and held various public health roles at Louisiana State University and Tulane University. Joenell holds a Master of Public Health from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from Loyola University New Orleans.
