Sofia Isabel Rivera

Sofia Isabel Rivera is currently serving as a Government Relations Associate at the American Museum of Natural History since June 2024. Previously, Sofia was a Research and Teaching Assistant at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism from July 2023 to June 2024 and worked as a Public Humanities Researcher for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in 2023. Additional experience includes internships at the National Endowment for the Humanities and the U.S. Department of State, as well as a Legal Intern position at the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor. Sofia has also taught English as a TEFL Instructor and served as an Election Commissioner in St. Tammany Parish. Educational credentials include a degree from Columbia University, with studies in History, 20th Century International Affairs, Media Theory, and Visual Culture, complemented by coursework at Trinity College Dublin and Universitatea „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” din Iași.
