Wasy Akhtar

Wasy Akhtar, Ph.D., is a Principal Engineer currently employed at AMOG since December 2024, with prior experience as a Principal Engineer in Digital Engineering at Element Materials Technology from November 2022 to November 2024. Previously, Wasy served as a Research Consultant at the Hewlett Packard Data Science Institute at the University of Houston from 2018 to 2023, focusing on high-Reynolds number Taylor-Couette turbulence. Wasy's experience includes a role as Principal Engineer & Director of Technical Sales at JBL Technologies, where technical support was provided for Dassault Systèmes software solutions across various sectors. Earlier positions include Engineering Specialist in Structural Dynamics at 2H Offshore from 2011 to 2017, University Instructor at the University of Houston, and Quality Assurance Specialist at Tata Hitachi. Wasy holds a Ph.D. and two Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Calicut, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science at Rice University.
