Menno Jansen

Phd Candidate at AMOLF

Menno Jansen is currently a PhD Candidate at AMOLF, working under the guidance of Professor Ewold Verhagen on developing quantum acoustic components, including efficient phonon sources and phonon waveguides. Prior experience includes operating a cyclotron at AccTec B.V. for medical isotope production, and completing a research internship at the Niels Bohr Institute, where a reproducible antenna design was implemented for a nano-opto-electro-mechanical system. Menno Jansen also conducted a graduation project at Eindhoven University of Technology focused on the effects of quantum dots on optomechanical properties of photonic crystal nanobeams, and served as a Powertrain Engineer for University Racing Eindhoven, addressing electromagnetic interference challenges. Educationally, Menno Jansen holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology, preceded by a VWO degree in Nature and Technology from Almende College Locatie Isala.
