Katrin Protard (geb. Schmitz) is an expert in international regulation at Amprion GmbH since May 2014, specializing in electricity market design, capacity calculation, security of supply, and international economic frameworks. Previously, Katrin served as an expert in grid tariffs and grid access, focusing on national regulation under the German Energy Act. Before joining Amprion, Katrin worked as a research assistant at the University Duisburg-Essen from October 2009 to April 2014, leading a team in market modeling while engaging in various research projects related to market design and congestion management. Katrin holds a Ph.D. in Energy Economics and a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Duisburg-Essen, along with an Abitur from Berufskolleg Hilden.
