Eefje Smet is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in health and humanitarian sectors. Currently serving as a PME and Research Adviser at Amref Flying Doctors since August 2015, Eefje focuses on enhancing health outcomes in Africa, particularly for young women. Prior to this role, Eefje worked as a Program Officer at Maatwerk bij Terugkeer (June 2012 - July 2015), providing reintegration support for asylum seekers and irregular migrants. Additional experience includes serving as a Consultant for Simavi, a Project Officer at War Trauma Foundation, and a Project Coordinator at HealthNet TPO, where Eefje worked on psychosocial support projects.
