Alexander Muir

Alexander Muir is an accomplished academic and industry professional specializing in human-centered design and user experience research. Currently serving as a Visiting Professor for Human Centred Design: Digital Learning at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham since August 2018, Alexander has developed significant programs and conducted impactful research in humanitarian technology. Previous roles include Lead UX + CX Researcher at TSB Bank, where new Lean methodologies resulted in a 300% increase in proposal velocity, and Lead User Researcher at the Ministry of Justice Digital & Technology, focusing on user needs in prison education systems. Experience also encompasses positions at Skyscanner, John Lewis, and Microsoft, where major projects in IoT, connected car experiences, and usability were innovatively developed. Alexander holds a BSc in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh, an MSc in Multimedia and Usability from Edinburgh Napier University, and a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology from Rutherford University.
