Hugh McNamara

Hugh McNamara is an experienced mining professional currently serving as the Underground Mine Manager and previously as the Technical Services Superintendent at Anglo American since July 2022. Prior experience includes a variety of roles at Glencore Coal from February 2015 to July 2022, such as Undermanager, Senior Mining Engineer, Ventilation Officer, and FCT Project Coordinator, with a focus on underground mining operations including gateroad development and ventilation planning. An academic background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Wollongong, along with several competencies in underground coal mining and a Graduate Diploma in Mine Ventilation. Hugh began their career as a Graduate Mining Engineer at Glencore Coal and also contributed to research on ventilation systems during a role as a Graduate Research Assistant.
