Rowan Munro

Rowan Munro has extensive experience in the mining industry, with a current role as Lead of Open Pit Mining Practices at Anglo American since October 2018, focusing on safety and productivity improvement across international operations. Prior to this, Rowan served as General Manager Operations/Site Senior Executive at Rio Tinto from May 2011 to October 2018, where responsibilities included enhancing safety performance and stakeholder engagement. Rowan also managed operations at Ensham Resources after a significant flooding incident from March 2009 to May 2011 and held various roles at Coal and Allied, Rio Tinto for over 16 years, including Manager Mining. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from UNSW and multiple certificates of competency in mining management from various recognized institutions.
