Valerie Pena

Valerie Pena is a communications professional with experience in animal welfare and international youth programs. Currently serving as the Safe Havens Communications Coordinator at the Animal Welfare Institute since May 2020, Valerie previously held positions such as Communications Intern at the same organization and Quality Assurance Intern at Youth For Understanding USA from January to May 2020. Additionally, Valerie gained research experience as a Research and Development Intern at Hearst during the summer of 2019. Valerie completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Communication and Dance at The George Washington University in 2022.
