Joel Akinola

Joel Akinola is a Process Development Scientist II at APC since May 2023 and a PhD Candidate at University College Cork since October 2018, focusing on the production of phenylpropanoids, which are crucial for various industries. Previous experience includes a Guest PhD Candidate position at Technische Universiteit Delft, where Joel worked on genetic engineering tools for non-conventional yeast, and a researcher role at KU Leuven, developing hepatitis B virus infection models. Earlier positions include product development at Coca-Cola European Partners and research at Conway Research Institute. Joel holds a Master's in Biotechnology from University College Cork and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Health and Life Sciences from University College Dublin.
