Arup Kumar Chandra

Arup Kumar Chandra has extensive experience in the tire industry, currently serving as the Head of Global R&D at Apollo Tyres Ltd since May 1998, where responsibilities include establishing the Corporate R&D Centre and leading research and development initiatives. Previous roles include In-Charge of R&D at Phillips Carbon Black Limited and Scientist-G at J.K. Tyre Ltd, where significant contributions to R&D activities were made. Additional exposure was gained through international training at Smithers Scientific Services Inc. in the USA and Continental General Tire Inc. In terms of education, Arup Kumar Chandra holds a Ph.D. in Steel cord rubber adhesion from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a Master of Technology in Rubber Technology from the same institution.
