Sam Stejskal is a seasoned sports journalist with extensive experience covering Major League Soccer and the U.S. men's national team. Currently serving as a Staff Writer for The Athletic since April 2019, Sam previously worked as a National Writer for MLSsoccer.com and contributed as a freelance writer and editor covering various soccer levels. Earlier roles include Media Services Manager for Real Salt Lake and a Public Relations Specialist at THE REPUBLIK®. Sam began the career as a Chicago Beat Reporter for MLSsoccer.com and has held positions at Sports Illustrated, Chimu Solutions, Chicago Now, and the Chicago Tribune Media Group. Sam earned dual degrees in Journalism and Economics from Northwestern University.
