Tommer Leyvand

Tommer Leyvand is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in computer vision, machine perception, and software development. As Senior Director of Video Computer Vision at Apple since June 2019, Tommer oversees a centralized organization focused on real-time on-device technologies across Apple products. Previously, Tommer held several leadership roles at Facebook, including Director of Engineering for both the AI Camera and Machine Perception groups, where advanced computational photography and large-scale machine perception capabilities were developed. Prior to Facebook, Tommer spent a decade at Microsoft, contributing to the HoloLens, Kinect, and Virtual Earth projects in various engineering management positions. Tommer's career began at IDF, followed by positions at Vigil Technologies and National Semiconductor Corp, with foundational education in Computer Science and Mathematics from Tel Aviv University.
